Weingut Hirsch Ried Lamm Grüner Veltliner Erste Lage 2019 brings the characteristic power of a renowned top Austrian vineyard into the glass. This Grüner Veltliner comes from the Ried Lamm in the Kamptal region and combines origin, grape variety, and the expressive 2019 vintage. As an Erste Lage (Premier Cru), it represents a particularly distinctive, cellar-worthy white wine with a clearly recognizable terroir. Weingut Hirsch is one of the most prominent producers in the Kamptal and stands for precise, characterful wines.

On the palate, the 2019 is full and concentrated, yet clear and balanced. Ripe yellow fruit meets the typical spice of the Grüner Veltliner, accompanied by peppery nuances, fine herbal notes, and a mineral impression. On the palate, the white wine feels juicy, dense, and structured. Its ripe fruit is supported by a lively acidity that gives it freshness and length. The vintage is already accessible but still possesses enough substance for positive development.

Optimal drinking maturity is approximately between 2024 and 2032. Serve well chilled, but not too cold, so that its spicy and mineral facets can unfold. This Grüner Veltliner is a particularly harmonious accompaniment to pan-fried zander, Wiener Schnitzel, or veal dishes. It also demonstrates its versatility with creamy asparagus risotto and robust mountain cheese.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
