Keller Abts Erde GG 2010 combines the typical chalky structure of the Keller terroir with the delicate freshness of a Keller Riesling. The 2010 vintage was characterized by ripeness and precision, resulting in this GG exhibiting an impressive balance between fruit, minerality, and substance. As a Grosses Gewächs (Grand Cru), it reflects the winery's philosophy of creating unique characters from high-quality grapes that develop over the years. Its remarkable longevity rewards enjoyment even after many years.

The nose reveals ripe citrus fruits, yellow peach, a hint of honey, and a distinct, saline minerality. On the palate, the wine is concentrated yet elegant, with fine acidity and a silky texture; the finish is long, precise, and lingering. Critics such as Falstaff, Parker, Jancis Robinson, Jeff Leve, and Wine Spectator praise such wines for their structure, finesse, and potential for aging over years. Even after years, its structure retains an impressive tension.

Food pairing recommendation: This wine harmonizes perfectly with grilled turbot, pan-fried halibut, or a creamy saffron risotto; it also pairs excellently with mature cheeses such as Comté or Manchego. Serve the wine at approximately 10–12°C to allow its minerality and fruitiness to fully develop. For special occasions, it offers an impressive flavor development that continues to unfold over time.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
