The Keller G-Max 2011 impresses with the characteristic precision of the Keller estate, which stands for terroir intensity and long aging potential. The 2011 vintage lends the G-Max a dense structure, deep fruit aromas, and fine minerality that unmistakably bears the Keller signature. Its character is one of delicate freshness and an almost Burgundian complexity that gains further depth with time. Tasting note: On the nose, ripe citrus nuances, yellow peach, and slate-like mineral notes mingle with a hint of petrol; on the palate, the wine displays a firm yet subtle acidity, creamy richness, and a long, elegant finish.

Regarding optimal drinking window, the 2011 G-Max is considered long-lived: a potential drinking period begins around the middle of the decade and is expected to extend into the 2030s, depending on storage. This balance between fruit, acidity, and minerality is characteristic of cellar-aged wines and allows for further development in the glass. Critics such as Falstaff, Robert Parker, Jancis Robinson, Jeff Leve, and Wine Spectator praise this winery and label as a benchmark for complexity and longevity. Suitable food pairings include grilled tuna or salmon with lemon butter, creamy cheese platters such as Comté or Gouda, and asparagus dishes, which accentuate the mineral structure and lend the wine a lasting complexity.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
