The Keller Winery's 2012 Grand Cru case reflects the signature style of one of the world's leading German wineries. Keller is considered a benchmark for precise minerality, cool structure, and long aging potential – qualities that are showcased in concentrated form in this 2012 case. The selection unites the estate's outstanding Grand Cru vineyards, capturing the warmth of the 2012 vintage while maintaining a refreshing character. Keller is regularly lauded by critics such as Falstaff Magazine, Robert Parker, Jancis Robinson, Jeff Leve, and Wine Spectator as a reference for longevity and terroir-driven expression.

Tasting note: The nose is greeted with aromas of ripe stone fruit, yellow peaches, citrus notes, and a pronounced minerality, accompanied by a subtle hint of salinity. On the palate, the wine presents a compact yet elastic structure, supported by fresh, well-integrated acidity and a long, elegant finish. This wine is expected to reach its drinking window between 2020 and 2035, continuing to evolve. Food pairing recommendation: Its complexity harmonizes beautifully with creamy risottos with porcini mushrooms, seared scallops with a buttery lemon glaze, or a selection of cheeses including mature Gouda and blue cheese, always complemented by the wine's mineral freshness.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
