Weingut Keller Westhofener Morstein Riesling Auslese 2013 Half-Bottle offers you concentrated Riesling enjoyment in a convenient 0.375-liter format. This Auslese comes from the Westhofener Morstein, one of the most renowned vineyards in Rheinhessen. Weingut Keller stands for precise, terroir-driven Rieslings with great inner tension and exceptional aging potential.

The 2013 vintage combines the natural sweetness of an Auslese with vibrant acidity. Tasting notes reveal ripe apricot, peach, and candied citrus fruit. These are accompanied by subtle notes of honey, a cool mineral spice, and a long, clear finish. Despite its concentration, the Riesling does not feel heavy. The acidity keeps it fresh and gives it an elegant flow. This half-bottle is especially suitable when you want to enjoy a special wine for two or bring a festive evening to a stylish close.

The 2013 is in an attractive stage of maturity and is likely to maintain its balance of fruit, sweetness, and minerality for many years to come. It is at its optimal drinking window from now until approximately 2035, and potentially even longer if stored carefully. Serve it well-chilled with foie gras, a bold blue cheese, or a fruity tart. It also provides an exciting, refreshing contrast to Asian dishes with sweet and spicy sauce.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
