Weingut Knipser Cuvée X R 2009 brings the distinctive character of the Palatinate to life in the glass and is ideal for you if you are looking for aged red wines with depth and structure. This 2009 vintage comes from the renowned Weingut Knipser and impressively demonstrates the aging potential that a powerful red wine cuvée can develop. The designation “Cuvée X” represents a distinctive, internationally influenced style inspired by classic Bordeaux cuvées.

In the glass, the red wine appears dense and dark. Aromas of ripe black berries, cassis, and plum combine with spicy notes, fine oak, and a subtle earthy maturity. On the palate, the cuvée is powerful, concentrated, and balanced. Aged tannins provide structure, while the fruit ensures a long finish. The aftertaste remains spicy and lingering. For the best enjoyment, it is recommended to open the wine carefully and allow it some time in the glass.

Its maturity makes the Cuvée X R 2009 a fitting choice for a special evening or festive meal. It pairs as convincingly with braised beef cheeks, roast beef, and game as it does with herb-crusted lamb. It also makes an excellent companion to aged hard cheese or a hearty mushroom dish.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
