Ott Winery Sauvignon Blanc 2003 represents a rare older vintage of Ott Winery's Sauvignon Blanc. The wine combines the maturity of the vintage with the typical freshness of the grape variety, showing how aromatic nuances can develop over the years. The 2003 vintage emphasizes the balance between fruit, minerality, and structure, resulting in a different, more emphatic expression of Sauvignon Blanc. This bottle reflects the tradition of the Ott estate and documents how vines and winemaking artistry ripen over years into a wine personality full of character.

Tasting Notes: In the glass, the wine presents an aged, yet clear aromatic profile. Notes of ripe citrus fruit, mineral undertones, and a subtle herbal breadth combine to create an elegant balance. The acidity remains present but is gently integrated, and the finish is long and harmonious. Food Pairing Recommendation: Serve it with grilled or steamed fish, seafood, goat cheese, or asparagus dishes that are supported by the wine's fresh yet sustained structure.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
