Weingut Robert Weil Kiedrich Gräfenberg Auslese 1999 Half Bottle

This matured Auslese brings the unique origin of the Kiedrich Gräfenberg into the glass in concentrated form. The half bottle is ideal for a quiet end to a meal or a special moment of enjoyment for two. In the Rheingau, the Robert Weil winery is synonymous with characterful Rieslings with a clear sense of origin and distinct aging potential. The 1999 vintage lends this Auslese additional depth and an elegant, developed stylistic.

In a tasting, this sweet wine is expected to be complex and harmonious. Mature fruit aromas are reminiscent of yellow apple, apricot, and candied citrus fruit. These are joined by delicate notes of honey and herbs, while lively acidity balances the sweetness and provides freshness. It is best to serve this Auslese well chilled, but not ice-cold, to allow its matured nuances to unfold. It pairs perfectly with a classic crème brûlée, fruit-based desserts with apricot, or bold blue cheese. It also provides a stylish accent when served with foie gras or a mild, savory cheese course.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
