Weingut Tement Zieregg Ried Sauvignon Blanc 2015 This product comes from Austria's southern Burgenland and effectively translates the unique soil conditions of the Zieregg single vineyard into the glass. The gravelly, slatey subsoil provides excellent drainage and imbues the wine with a pronounced mineral foundation. For a long time, the winery focused on minimal cellar intervention, controlled cold fermentation, and minimal yeast management to fully preserve the varietal freshness. The 2015 vintage was characterized by consistently warm weather, which allowed for full extracts while protecting the natural acid balance. Reviews by Robert Parker or analyses by Jancis Robinson often classify this typology into categories of compact fruit structure and finely spicy nuances.

Sensory analysis reveals a pale yellow with slight silvery accents, followed by a nose of quince, white berries, and a distinctly dominant flint stone note. The palate responds with a medium-high body, a smooth texture, and a clear, clean acid curve with a salty finish. The wine is suitable for accompanying marinated seafood, roasted chicken drumsticks, or Mediterranean vegetable skewers.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
