Angelo Gaja Barolo Barriers (Half) 2016

The Angelo Gaja Barolo Sperrs 2016 is an exceptional example of the renowned Gaja winery, captivating with its complex aromas and elegant structure. Known for its innovative approach and the exceptional quality of its wines, the Gaja winery has created a product with this vintage that appeals to both connoisseurs and enthusiasts. The 2016 vintage is characterized by its balanced interplay of fruitiness, tannin structure, and complex nuances, making it an outstanding example of a fully ripe Barolo.

Upon tasting, an intense bouquet of ripe cherries, violets, and delicate spices unfolds, complemented by elegant hints of tar and licorice. On the palate, the wine is velvety, powerful, yet delicate, with a long-lasting structure that makes it an ideal companion for years to come. Optimal drinking maturity is around 2021 to 2030, allowing you to enjoy this special wine for several more years. For a harmonious tasting experience, we recommend serving it with regional specialties such as truffles, beef fillet, or mature hard cheeses. Treat yourself to this exclusive wine and enjoy the refinement of a true Gaja.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
