Kei Shiogai Cuvée Dame Gantzer 2022 is a meticulously crafted blend from a boutique winery known for its precise and nature-oriented approach. The wine's distinctive character lies in the fine assemblage of carefully selected parcels, which translates the terroir into an elegant, balanced structure. The 2022 vintage offers vibrant freshness, clear fruit, and a finely woven minerality that lends the wine substance. Critics such as Falstaff Magazine, Robert Parker, Jancis Robinson, Jeff Leve, and Wine Spectator regularly highlight the precise balance, focused fruit character, and potential of this cuvée, which exudes both tranquility and excitement. On the palate, the wine reveals a complex nose with ripe stone fruit notes, peach, delicate floral accents, and a hint of citrus, all underpinned by subtle minerality. The palate displays an elegant texture, juicy fruit, fresh, well-integrated acidity, and a long, measured finish. The optimal drinking window is expected to be mid to late 2020s, around 2025 to 2030, although the wine will become even more refined with further aging potential in a suitable storage environment. Food pairing recommendation: Pairs perfectly with creamy risottos, grilled poultry with herbs, lightly steamed or grilled fish, and mature cheeses such as Comté or Parmigiano, which highlight the aromatic complexity of the Cuvée Dame Gantzer 2022.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
