Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttonyos 1961 is an exceptional sweet wine from the renowned Tokaji winery, known for its centuries-old tradition and masterful vinification. The 1961 vintage gives this Tokaji a special complexity and depth that delights connoisseurs and collectors alike. This wine was made from fully ripe, noble-rot grapes and carefully processed using the traditional Aszú method. The result is an elegant and complex taste experience that reflects centuries of aging.

Tasting reveals a golden color with an intense aroma of dried fruit, honey, spices, and a subtle minerality. On the palate, the wine displays a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity, accompanied by a long, velvety finish. Due to its exceptional quality, Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttonyos 1961 is ideal for long-term storage, with optimal drinking maturity already achieved at an advanced age. This wine is a perfect accompaniment to fine desserts, foie gras, or mature cheese, and an unforgettable highlight for special occasions. Take the opportunity to discover and enjoy this exceptional Tokaji—a true gem of Hungarian wine culture.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
